Commission

Many of my followers have been asking about how to commission a portrait, so I thought I will try to answer the most common questions here.

• Do you only draw from live models?
  Even though I prefer working with live models, I am happy to draw from photos.

• What kind of photos do you need? And how many?
  The more, the better. Normally 3/4 to full-body photos work well, but try to avoid selfie poses. It will be helpful to see several poses, so I can come up with a suitable composition. 

• Would the photos provided ended up posted all over the internet?
  Definitely NOT. I take privacy seriously and will never upload anything I received online. I will only post the final drawings in my website and selected trusted apps with permission from the model without exception.

• I had a professional photo shoot, can you use those photos?
  I would love to see all the photos you are happy to share, but probably won’t use the professionally taken ones since I don’t want to infringe on another artist’s unique vision and copyright.

• There is a particular photo I really like, can you use that one?
  I generally try to avoid doing an exact copy of a single photo and come up with a drawing based on multiple photos. Then again, I am flexible and everything is up for discussion.

• How about nude portraits? 
  Nearly all my drawings have a “safe” clothed version and a naked version. I think bears are at their best when naked.

• Can you draw me having sex with my partner? 
  I am happy to draw couples, but only limited to tasteful portraits instead of sex scenes. There are many talented artists who excel at hot explicit drawings.
